New Delhi, Tech Desk.  The Coronavirus tracking Aarogya Setu app, which has become popular among smartphone users, will also be launched for feature phones soon.  Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has informed about this.  The Union Minister said that the service featuring the Aarogya Setu app is being developed for feature phone users, it will be launched soon.  Let us know that the Aarogya Setu app launched on April 2 has been downloaded by 7.5 crore users so far.  The Tamil Nadu government, along with BSNL and IIT Madras, has already launched the Aarogya Setu IVRS service for feature phone users.  Soon a similar service can be launched for the entire country.

IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told via video conference that the road map of Tech Innovation is being prepared to meet the challenge of Coronavirus.  Aarogya Setu app has been highly appreciated by every state and has expressed its views about it.  We told the state governments that soon a similar service will be started for feature phone users, work is being done on it.  Ravi Shankar Prasad has given this information through his Twitter handle.
The Aarogya Setu app launched by the Government of India tracks people infected with coronavirus through Bluetooth and GPS location.  In this app, users first have to register with their mobile number and personal information.  After this, some questions are asked to the user.  If users answer those questions correctly then this app tells you whether you are safe or not.  For this app to work, the user always has to keep GPS and Bluetooth on their smartphone.

The IT minister said that this app will be launched soon for JioPhone feature phone users.  Developers are making this app KaiOS compatible.  Other feature phone users will be able to access this service through the 1921 IVRS service.  Currently there are more than 40 million feature phone users across the country.  After the launch of this service, these 40 million users will benefit.
