Struggling to source your daily essential items in the times of corona? Worry no more because now there more apps than ever that will deliver all the essential goods at your doorstep. Earlier, people had to either choose between BigBasket or Grofers but now food-delivery apps like Swiggy, Zomato and even Dominos have started delivering groceries across the cities.
Swiggy that had earlier started its grocery delivery services only in tier 1 and tier 2 cities, will now deliver groceries in 125 cities.
Although Swiggy delivered groceries in some cities earlier, due to the lockdown and ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it has expanded its services to various cities. As per latest updates, it is now available in 125 cities. Swiggy has collaborated with HUL, P&G, Godrej, Dabur, Marico, Cipla, Vishal Mega Mart, Adani Wilmers to deliver groceries through their stores.
If you still don't know how to avail the facility, go to the Swiggy app, tap on the grocery tab that would appear on your Swiggy app. Once you select it, you will be taken to the page showing stores in your locality. You can select your store and start shopping. Swiggy promises delivery in two hours, you can also opt for no-contact delivery, if you have already paid for your order.
Zomato has started the Zomato Market services to deliver the essential grocery items at your doorstep. It has also partnered with Vishal Mega Mart and other FMCG to deliver groceries. The service is currently available in 80 cities currently. Zomato promises to deliver in almost an hour but there is a catch. The customers cannot order more than 12kgs at a time. Meanwhile, Zomato also has its food-delivery services running simultaneously. For people living alone, fret no more as Zomato and Swiggy will now take care of your food and groceries.
Apart from Swiggy and Zomato, companies including Shopclues, Paytm, Dominos have also started delivering groceries in selected cities. Dominos, known for its pizzas, announced recently that it will now deliver groceries. Shopclues too have started the services but you might not get a wide range of products.
Flipkart, Amazon, Grofers and BigBasket were already delivering essential goods but due to the surge in orders, they were finding it difficult to take new orders. Amazon also started its pantry services recently which would help customers source their groceries but the services might not be as fast as Zomato or Swiggy.
