Detailed
Currently available electric vehicles in India are quite expensive.  If their price decreases then electric vehicles will be a hit in the Indian market.  The success of electric vehicles in India will also depend on how many kilometers these vehicles will cover on a full charge.  Given the growing market for electric vehicles in India, MG Motor is expanding its lineup of electric vehicles.

Watch the indian market
The Chinese automobile company MG Motor, owned by China's SAIC Motor, launched its first electric car MG ZS EV in India earlier this year.  Given the price sensitivity in the Indian car market, MG Motor is planning to develop an affordable electric car here.  In India, the price of this car will be less than 10 lakh rupees.  According to the report, MG Motor is looking into all aspects of demand for it in the Indian market and will decide its price only after that.

Investment in india
MG Motor recently announced that it is expanding its electric car manufacturing capabilities by investing more than Rs 5,000 crore in India.  This move will help MG Motor to decide the price of its electric vehicle in India compared to its rival companies.

Charging infrastructure
The emphasis is on developing charging infrastructure in India right now.  Because there are various doubts in the minds of customers about charging electric vehicles.  To address this aspect, MG Motor is installing 50kW DC chargers and AC chargers at customers' home or place of work and dealerships.  For this, the company has announced a partnership with eChrargeBays.

Charge-on-the-go
MG Motor is currently providing charging infrastructure facilities in five cities of India - Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Hyderabad.  Simultaneously, MG Motor India is launching 'Charge-on-the-Go' service in select cities to facilitate on-the-go charging during travel under its Roadride Assistance Service.  For this, AC fast charging station is being set up on major routes.

Bumper booking
If we look at the sales of MG ZS EV, more than 400 cars were sold in India before the lockdown.  Not only this, more than 3 thousand cars have been booked.  The company aims to sell 3 to 4 thousand MG ZS EVs by the end of 2020.

Battery and Range
The MG ZS EV SUV gets a 44.5 kWh battery pack, which gives 143 ps of power and 353 Nm of torque.  This electric SUV has three driving modes and three levels of regenerative braking.  The battery of the car is charged up to 80 percent with a fast charger of 50 kW DC in just 40 minutes, while charging with a 7 kW charger takes 7 hours.

The MG ZS EV SUV covers a distance of 340 km on full battery charging.  At the same time, it can catch 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.5 seconds.  While its rival Hyundai Kona catches it in nine seconds.
